Built by people who know the system, and its gaps

With over 50 years of experience across automotive financing, banking, and private lending, our team saw first-hand how the traditional banking fails many viable borrowers.

TDSR limits, rigid credit scoring, and processes leave business owners, and property owners without options, even with strong collateral.

We built Tembusu to be different: a direct lender that uses its own capital and moves at the speed businesses actually need. Every deal is reviewed by senior leadership, not a junior committee.

Named after a tree that endures.

The Tembusu tree is native to Singapore, a heritage species that can live up to 200 years. It thrives in adverse conditions, grows deep roots, and stands resilient through seasons. A quiet symbol of strength and continuity.

Our history

How we got here

2018
Sgcarmart Financial Services was established as a joint venture between Sgcarmart, the management team and investors, with a focus on hire purchase and inventory financing.
2022
Following Toyota's $150M acquisition of Sgcarmart, the management team led a buyout of Sgcarmart Financial Services. The company was subsequently renamed Tembusu Financial Services.
2023
The group expanded into the property-backed capital loan business, under TBS Capital.
